As part of InsideArts, the University of the Bristol Festival of Arts and Humanities, the Theatre Collection is offering special tours of their latest exhibition and the Theatre Collection itself.
Curated by Clare Thornton who is the Theatre Collection's first Artist in Residence, Unfurl is a work of two parts: a one-off performance and exhibition, which runs from 26 September to 11 November.
The exhibition focuses on the recently acquired Mander & Mitchenson Collection, revealing some of its hidden treasures and making new work inspired by its holdings.
The Unfurl exhibition celebrates the Theatre Collection's 60th anniversary and is framed by the artist's research into depictions of folds and drapery in paintings, sculpture and historical interiors.
This tour also provides an opportunity to go behind the scenes at Theatre Collection, one of the world's largest theatre and performance archives.
